Q: How much should i be paying if i want to purchase the new hyundai sonata 2010?
I been looking on Cars direct and got a price of $16800…. for a auto GLS.. that was with a $2500 rebate.. Couple dealers gave me a quote of around 15k plus tax… Has anyone got one under that?

A: 15k plus tax is probably the lowest you will see. hopefully they are being straight up with you. they are blowing these out atm and thats a good price for a brand new Sonata with full warranty. even if it is an outgoing model, i have a feeling you won’t see the much lower. especially if the price of the average Elantra is above it

i actually prefer the Elantra to the outgoing Sonata, but of course for reasons you most likely aren’t interested in. but if the Sonata is being offered for just over $16,000 OTD with automatic with no ups and no extras, thats most likely the best deal you will see aside from some gimmicky “specials.” even $16,800 is good if tax and all fees are included. but if not, sure, you can do better then that. probably by several hundred dollars, at least

if the 15K offers are straight up with no hidden add ons or fees besides tax and license, and you want the car, i’d say now is good a time as any

A: There is no such thing anymore as a break in period,the high quality of machining of parts eliminated this requirment about 20yrs ago.

I believe I need to replace the clock in my 2005 Hyundai Sonata. The clock turns on and off sporadically, and now has completely dead. I looked online and a lot of the Hyundai Parts sties didn’t have one. Would I be better off just going to the dealership and getting one?

A: Yes, you need to replace it. Typical symptom. Get one from dealer or junkyard. These are the only two sources available on the market,….. unfortunately.

even if i start my defrost button for winsheild and for back but still i m not getting my back both glass defrost so i cannot see when i want to see back to change the lane so please request you to give me some better answer for my problem

A: i have the same problem with my 2001 accent. it is getting frozen i can’t see a dam thing, but for the back their is a button with a white small light with defroster sign u have to push it to on. it’s somewhere u have look to find it. once it is on u will notice ur back windshied will get heat start to clear out. but for mine i figured that the air is not blowing on to the front windshield i don’t know why i asked people to help. check to insure if it’s blowing onto ur windshield feel with ur hand if the heat is coming out at all, something could be blocking it.

A: I’d pick the dog more dependable and besides you don’t have to take them to a station when they run out of gas!

Q: New 2009 Hyundai Sonata model already?
I just saw the new redesigned 2009 Hyundai Sonata and got an invitation to test drive one the end of February. I can’t wait to write my review. They are making some big claims but the last time they did that, they fell short again. The look is more refined and the interior materials are said to be “higher quality,” but I’ll wait and see when I see it.

One of the reasons the resale value is so poor on Hyundais is because every 2 or 3 years they change the look and body style of their cars, and we all know nobody wants to drive around in an old model when they can have a new one. Right? I feel bad for those who want to buy a new 2008 model and think they are getting a good deal. What do you think? Have you seen it?
klj- If you really are a “biochemistry student” then you must be failing all of your classes. How do you spend 10+ hours per day here writing responses to Hyundai questions if you have to study for Biochem? Give us all a break- There are more Hyundai sales people here than there are questions, and they come out of the closet everyday. Some even proclaim their title proudly!
aj2003- Written like a true Hyundai sales representitive. lol. Its bad enough that Hyundai already has such poor resale value, now add it a new model in just 3 years time and you have dealers that will be stuck with 2007 AND 2008 leftovers that will need to be sold at a very STEEP discount. Can you spell ‘depreciation’ for me?

Oh, BTW, Hyundai is not class leading in any single catagory, according to Car and Driver. Their last test of the Sonata placed it dead last in a midsize comparison test and their Tuscon just came in 8th place out of 9! But don’t take their word for it- test drive one yourself. “Think about it.”
klj0412- I almost forgot. Hyundai isn’t selling cars because they are building cars that nobody wants, not because of their sales people. All their potential buyers have bought already or tried to sell their Hyundai and found out how much they lost. Again, there is NOT ONE Hyundai that is better than all other cars. Not one. Think about that. GM on the other hand has one hit after another- Enclave, Malibu, Acadia, Sky, Corvette, ZR1, Z06, CTS, CTS-V, Hybrid Tahoe, Hybrid Escalade, Hybrid Yukon winning award after award and selling better than expected. And soon, the Traverse, the Camaro, the CTS coupe and a whole line of new Cadillacs will be there. Chrysler and Ford are in a major turn around phase that will follow in the foot steps of GM. Need I say more? Put your resignation in today at Hyundai and join up in a GM dealer. There will be plenty of work to do!

A: Yup I just saw it on yahoo. I think its ok looking. I dont know why they need an update already. But after my experience with my Veracruz which I traded in for a much much better CUV I definitely would never buy a Hyundai again!!!!!! Very bad resale!!! I got pennies on the dollar for what I paid for it.

The cup holder completely fell into the console and broke off. Im guessing i need a whole new one? It’s the top part wood grain. Or do i just need like the top wood grain part that they are connected to? I have no idea.
It’s the cup holderes but it’s like a whole top piece that cracked where they go and are like glued in. Just coffee cups so i dont know why it went.

A: You need just the cup holder. You can get it from dealer or junkyard for cheaper.

Q: Hyundai Sonata ( new shape ) 2.4 auto transmission problem.?
I have just bought a 2005 hyundai sonata 2.4 cdx 4 speed auto.

The car is good except for one problem. When the auto box shifts from 2nd to 3 rd it comes with a lurch and clunk when cold. Once it warms up a bit it becomes smooth .

Does anyone have any ideas if it’s a big problem ? Have you had this problem , if so , how was it resolved.

A: You might have it checked out, but slow shifting when cold tends to be a normal thing in Hyundai transmissions from what I hear from my service techs.

A: I wouldn’t advise it. If you get springs specifically for your Sonata, you know you’re getting the correct ones. Otherwise they may not be the right diametre. They could also be either too soft or too hard, or too long or too short. Any of which would give you a terrible ride and could cause many other problems as well.

Q: My 2000 Hyundai Sonata dashboard power went off when i installed a new cd player.?
I install a new cd player system, and everything was working fine, but then my clock and and power locks stop working. What can i do?

A: You may have either pinched a wire or pulled a connector apart in the process of installing the cd player.

First check for blown fuses. Use a test light. $5-10 at the local parts store.

If that does not resolve problem pull the cd player back out and look for damaged wiring in the dash.
