Q: Does a brand new Hyundai Accent come with warranty?
In 2008 we bought a brand new Hyundai Accent and were told we automatically had a 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty so we assumed it just came along. Now when we need it, I don’t see any paperwork for this. Is this common? Do we have a warranty or not?

A: As long as you are the original owner, you should.

Call the service dept, give them your vin and they can tell you for sure.

A: Your only option for a new car under $10K is a Hyundai Accent blue, a Kia Rio, a Chevy Aveo or a Nissan Versa base sedan.

All of them will come with a manual transmission, power nothing, no A/C and no radio.
You would be better off looking for a 2-3 year old Ford Focus or Mazda 3 with 30K miles unless you can live without all of the options these base models lack.

A: Sure, you can trade it in and get about $8K for the trade in and then buy the Azera, if you owe more then $8K they will just add it onto your new loan. You might even get special financing and loyalty cash for buying a 2nd Hyundai.

Q: i just purchased 2009 New Hyundai Accent GL with Sport package. Power related buttons illumination questions.?
When the lights are turn on, only the Power window button on the dirver side illuminates, others do not ( including the button on the passenger door). is this normal. This is a 2009 Hyundai Accent GL with Sport package. thank you in advance.

A: Hyundai does make some good vehicles but the Accent is not one of them.

the Mit Colt is selling like wild fire in Europe and all over so they must be doing something right.

I read that the suped up model is fun to drive and they are coming out with several special editions at your dealer soon

so if you want a Hyundai get an Elantra or Santa Fe, avoid the Accent, Entourage, .Genesis and the Tiburon.

A: I highly doubt she bought it new for $7500 or maybe she is saying her loan is $7500 because she put down $3500 cash or had a trade-in. The GS 3-door has an MSRP of $10775 and a cash back offer of $1000, so its possible she paid as little as $9000. Then you still need to add on the destination charge, processing fee’s and state sales tax (6% of $10,000 is $600). If you have $5000 cash, I suggest financing the car in full and keeping the money in a Bank CD as your loan payment will be low anyway and it will help you build a strong credit history. You can probably get a 3-4 year old Accent for $5000 though.

Q: Help I just drove over 7 miles in my new 2010 hyundai accent GS with the hand brake on what do I do?
My malfunction indicator light turns on when i put the key in the ignition but it goes off as soon as I start the engine. While I am driving though it does not blink on and off it doesn’t even come on. So should I be concerned…Iam a first time car owner plz help!!!

A: Well, stop driving with the parking brake on, and that’s all you have to do to correct that concern.

Now, when you turn the key to the “on” position, all the warning lights should come on. This is a “bulb test” if you see it, that means the bulb is good so you know if there is a problem, the light will come on. This is normal and proper operation of the Check Engine Light or Malfunction Indicator Light.

A: From your car choice, you’re looking for a small car, for about 13k, right, none of the cars on the list are very reliable or comfortable, but if I had to chose, I would pick the versa. A better choice, I think, would be to buy a used car (06 up), you can get a vey nice car, that was sold for 40k new, so I would go for that.

I feel ashamed of son’s act. I gave my 21 year old son a check of $12,000 and asked him o buy a new hyundai accent. He wanted a car and i know it was necessary. So i just wanted to give him a basic car that can transport him from point A to point B, with no extra features. Instead he purchased 1999 lexus rx 300 with 65,000 miles on it for $9,000 and pocketed $3000. He later said accent is too tight and small car and it has no comfort at all. He argued the 99 rx300 is spacious and comfortable and that its fun driving it. I feel very angry because new cars never break down and last a long time. An already 10 year old car, with 65,000 miles on it for $9000 is outrageous. The is going to break down simply due to its age and i will not pay for repairs. Also its out of touch technology. A: Different strokes for different folks. When my kids said, “I want” I told them to want in one hand and poop in the other and see which one filled first. Giving kids everything they want especially adult kids just teaches them to come back and ask for more.

This is what you need. It is a double male mini plug. Don’t let them sell you gold plated or anything expensive. This one is all you need.

Q: Cost of new transmission for a 97 Hyundai Accent?
Hi, I’m looking to buy a car and found a 97 Hyundai Accent for $1000. It says it might need a new transmission soon, just wondering if it’s worth this? Maybe I could talk down the price. What do you think?

A: If it is an automatic transmission, it won’t be that expensive. A Hyundai reman trans from the factory will cost about $1100.00. Figure 6 hours labor (or so) at anywhere from $75 to $100 per hour, depending on where you live. So,if you had to put $1600 in the car, is that car worth $2600? If it’s in good shape maybe so. Also ask the seller about the history of the timing belt. They are due for replacement every 60K, so if it’s due you can figure another $400 or so.

Q: What size and type of Rims would look good on a maroon 2007 Hyundai Accent?

A: go to tirerack.com they have a program that allows you to “put” rims on your car virtually. Personally I’d say wait a bit to splurge on rims and look for something you like.

Q: New Tires for a 2004 Hyundai Accent?

A: Thankfully, your OE size is P175/70R13 so they shouldn’t cost too much. I believe your best value is the Kumho Solus KR21. It carries an 85k mileage warranty, road hazard coverage through the first 25% of tread wear, and roadside assistance. Oh yeah, they are priced nice too.

A: 1. All new cars are built to be somewhat disposable (this only makes sense within the auto making business).

2. Now for your question:

It really depend on how well it’s maintained. Different cars (within a make) have different life spans, it’s really impossible to pin point life span. I’m quite impressed with my hyundai, and as far as the brand new cars out there, they make some of the best for the price. You’ll hear bad things, but since 2000, and especially since 2006 they’ve started making great cars, and have really turned things around. I’ve talked to a couple mechanics, and they have said new hyundais are doing much better (for mechanical problems) than both new toytas, and new hondas. In this case following old reputations (as some of the other answers are) is an erroneous strategy. I recommend hyundai 100%, they are the cutting edge of the industry, and are working very hard to change their reputation. In short, at least 200 000 km, if you treat it half decently.

Q: How much does a new windshield for a 2003 Hyundai Accent cost?
I have a huge crack on my windshield, I can see with no problem, but it’s mostly annoying and ugly. How much would it cost to get it replaced? How long would it take?

A: The problem with cracks in windshields is that although initially inconsequential it could get worst and present a danger to you. Best to get it replaced as soon as you can. It should cost between 150-200 dollars and if you make an appointment, they could have your windshield ready and it won’t take but an hour to replace it.
