Q: How much will a new Ford Explorer engine cost me?
I have a 97 Ford Explorer and it needs a new engine…doe anyone know how much it will cost?

A: $500 at a junk yard

Q: What are the chances of a new Ford Explorer Rolling over?
Tomorrow I am going to Hertz to rent an SUV, most likely a Ford Explorer, and from I heard they are newer ones. I am nervous since I live in MN about the possibility of a roll over and I have never actually driven an SUV and I have kids. Are newer Ford Explorers likely to roll over? Like I said I am a little nervous since there is ice on the road.
Thanks! Ever since I was little my mom told me that those type of cars were top heavy and rolled easily. When I drove a minivan a couple years ago I was freaking out everytime I turned a corner and my heart was pounding fast.

A: If you don’t drive like a moron who thinks the explorer is able to drive at top speeds in any weather condition! Just drive smart and safe. The vehicle isn’t superman. Drive it like youwould drive a sub-compact. You’ll be fine.

Q: 010year Brand new Ford Explorer broke in a week What should i have to do.?
I just bought the 2010 brand new Ford Explorer but it broke in a week. The belt was broken, I asked to changed new car but they did not accept it.
What is the best way for me?
and they replaced the belt, but how could i belive it won’t happen again?

A: The warranty is limited. If a defective covered part fails, they will replace it free of charge. They will not replace the entire vehicle. If there is a problem that continues to happen, and they are unable to fix it after several tries, you may have a lemon law claim, but in this case, they will replace the belt and see if there is a problem that caused the failure. They will not give you a different vehicle

Q: Should I buy a New Ford Explorer?
I am looking for a new car and I am leaning toward a 2007 or 2008 new Ford Explorer. I want to get the Eddie Bauer Edition with leather seats, chrome rims, and no other extras besides maybe heated seat. I also want to get the 2 wheel drive V8. How much a month would this be to lease if I had no trade in. The lease would be for 36 months. How much monthly, I can’t go over $411 a month. Thanks!

A: Great Vehicle! Fords are the Best……Anyway, go to www.fordvehicles.com and you can build your vehicle and see what you payments would be by the payment calculator

Q: What do you guys think of the new Ford Explorer?
I like it! Very good looking, to bad its out of my price range : ( Ill just go with the escape.

A: Please don’t buy a Ford, you will be sorry. Any ford you get will be a huge mistake. They’re terrible. I have never been in a car that rattles so much after a few years. I would look at a honda CRV which is around the price of an escape.

Q: why does the all new ford explorer with the v8 have so low mpg?
the new ford explorer 2006 with the v8 says the mpg is 15 city and 20 highway mine only makes 11 mpg everywhere. the highest i got was 12 mpg

A: It will go up a little when the motor gets a few miles on it. But EPA numbers are high (that is why they are changing the way they are determined for 2008) and I would expect around 13 City and 18 Highway with that truck.

Q: 1993 Ford Explorer, new battery not charging, will not start making a clicking sound on the passenger side.?
new battery still reading low voltage. Please help!!

A: Get the car turning over and get a voltage meter on the battery if its the alternator then the charge reading will be low (charge reading should be in the region of about 13.4 volts) if it is low then it points to the alternator if it reads as it should then it points to a problem with the battery check terminals are clean etc it could actually be the battery itself they are after all like any other product you buy they can be defective.

Q: How much under MSRP can you buy a Brand New Ford Explorer?

A: Use kbb.com or Edmunds.com to find the dealer’s cost. Nowadays, expect to pay anything from that cost to +3%. The dealers get kickbacks and other incentives from the mfr. so they can sell it for cost.

Before starting to barter on price, know what financing you plan to have and get pre-approved if possible. Most credit unions offer good rates. The rebates can be better than the zero per cent financing if they don’t budge on the MSRP.

Q: I have a new Ford Explorer XLT Sport….when I start it up in the morning, it makes a “chirping sound”
I don’t know how to describe it really. But then by the time I take it for someone to listen to it….it stops doing it. Like something swinging around going (kinda high pitched sound) chirp chirp chirp , squeak… any thoughts on why it does this and what I can do about it?

A: Its your serpentine belt , it has a tensioner pulley and is non adjustable. At the parts stores they sell a $3 spray can of “belt dressing” , its a tacky spray and it keeps the belt from slipping or chirping on cold starts. If your power steering fluid is cold it will take more force to turn the pulley until it warms up.

Q: I have a new Ford Explorer and it gets 14 miles a gallon. What can I do to squeeze a little more mileage?
Fule injected V6

A: remove the spare tire, and keep a couple “fix a flat” cans instead, remove the back seats, keep your air filter clean, and change yer points, plugs and cables regularly. Plan your travels , ie: stop for groceries in between the this place and the need to go to that place, and do your run in a circle so yer not back trackin. You will be surprised how much you’ll save if you just get used to paying attention to less back and forths. as well as correct tire pressure and lighter weight. Allot easier than figurine how you can drive downhill with the wind at yer back both ways, lol

Q: I have a 1993 ford explorer, New battery and New alternator and alternator is not giving any charge to battery

A: You have a fusible link by the solenoid on the firewall by the battery. Check for power on both sides of this. It looks like a heavy wire with a bulge in it. If no power on both sides…replace it.

Q: Why are the new brakes on my 97 Ford Explorer still spongy?
Ok just put new calipers rotors and pads all the way around on my 97 ford explorer with 4wd and ABS. I bled the brakes twice starting with the furthes wheel and they still feel spongy. Is it possible that the ABS system has air in it? If so how do i get it out? Thanks!

A: heres how i bleed them/some one in drivers seat engine off/master cyl full/can of fluid standing by/go under right rear and open bleeder and have driver step on brake smoothly and hold when its on floor/close bleeder let up/do again/down -hold-up /do l-rear and right front and left front last/i have used this system for many years with no problems and good results/after each wheel check master for proper level/good luck

Q: I bought a new battery for my ford explorer but the next day the battery light came back on. Help.?
My 1998 ford explorer battery gage was reading low and then the warning light came on. Replaced the battery with a new one thinking this would solve the problem. But the next day drove the truck and the battery warning light came on again. What else can be the problem? Can something be draining the battery?

A: Check first your alternator belt if its loose. Loose belt can also cause discharge to the battery. If the belt is okay, check your alternator, it could be malfunctioning already. Hope this helps!

Q: How much can I get a Brand New Ford Explorer for?

A: New Explorers start at $28470 and up.
There are discounts and regional incentives available.

Q: Looking to buy a new Ford Explorer 08 or 09?
is there a forum to compare prices with other shoppers? Or advice on what price to ask for etc.

I test drove a New 08 XLT and with rebates they priced it at 26,260.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.enacre.net
