Q: What truck should I consider buying: A Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram, or a Ford F-150?
I like all of these trucks but the F-150 stands out the best so far. Any opinions? I looked at all the 2011 trucks.

A: Despite all the hype you hear from each company, if you look at the actual data, you’ll find that Ford trucks generally have higher resale values and they appear to have the highest longevity based upon how long they are licensed as operational. Chevy and GMC come in second and Dodge is 3rd. I’ve personally owned all three and, while I like my Dodge Dakota, the three F150s I owned were the best built trucks I’ve had and all my trucks have a rough life in the construction business. The 2 Chevy’s were the absolute worst for hauling heavy loads and my 2 Dodge’s always got the worst MPG.

A: First off, don’t listen to the commenter calling the F-150 a bitch truck. Like many Toyota fan’s he’s just pissed off because his brand continues to decline in quality while Ford continues to rise.

Secondly…According to the Ford web site the STARTING price of the 2011 Harley Davidson F-150 is…$47,995. But chance’s are after TTL it will be over $50,000.

I myself am actually planning on buying a 2011 F-150, But i’m not going for the Harley Davidson model. To much luxury and to much price for my taste. Instead I personally am going for an extended cab FX4 model with the 5.0L V8.

A: Ford F-150, the only truly all American made vehicle.

The Dodge is now a foreign made car, no American union employees have had anything to do with this American icon.

GMC = government managed company, why should U.S. taxpayers, use our good money for a vehicle totally dependant on taxpayer’s money to be in business. Did you know that the US government took over the retirement system of all GMC retirees?

Q: Average wait time when ordering a vehicle from the factory?
Next summer, Around July or so I plan on ordering a 2011 Ford F-150 truck from the factory (More personalized). And I was just curious as to how long I should expect to wait from the day I order it, to the day it arrives on the lot.

Ive heard several rumors that it can be as short as 4-6 weeks and as long as 8months. 4-6 weeks is perfectly fine. Even if it turned out to be like a 2 or 3 month wait I think that would be alright too. But 8 months just seems far to excessive.

Also for the record, The particular truck I plan to order is not a specialty vehicle. I am going to buy a 2011 F-150 FX4 extended cab with the new 5.0L V8.

A: my friend just bought a 2012 ford two months ago, if you are waiting until next year to buy one, you may as well go ahead and order one now, because ford is making the 2013 already, I dont know if you are waiting because of financing or not, but you can order a new truck NOW IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, SO BEST OF LUCK, GO GET EM WILDMAN.
