Q: How reliable are toyota tacomas?
I was looking at getting a new car, and I have been looking at the 2001-2004 Toyota Tacomas, the PreRunner ones or the 4X4 ones, not the little low to the ground ones.
How reliable are those trucks?
A: I’ve had a 1998 and a 2001. The 2001 was the most durable and best performing truck i’ve ever had. Make sure to get the 4X4 one. The preRunner looks the same, but it doesn’t perform offroad. You’ll love it.
Q: Is there a reason why the 2008 Toyota Tacomas have rough paint patches towards the bottom of the vehicle?
I noticed this in a few brand new Tacomas. Its located towards the bottom portion of the doors.
A: Anti-chip treatment in vulnerable areas.
Q: I want to buy a used truck soon. I really like the new Toyota Tacomas, but..?
I am looking for a truck under 10k&the new toyota Tacomas, even used, are rarely under 10k. I can’t even find on in Phoenix that is for sell. What would you suggest to buy instead of Tacoma? Price:10k or under, and reasonable gas mileage.
A: look for a gmc canyon or chevy colorado basically the same truck
Q: What is the difference between the 07 and 08 Toyota Tacomas?
Could you please post a link to this. I cant seem to find out the new year changes. Thanks
A: You did not mention which model Tacoma you were interested in comparing so I picked the V6 4dr Double Cab 4WD 6.1 ft. SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A) in both cases to give you a side-by-side comparo….
Here is the link that compares these two models side by side for you – if you want to compare other models, just change the options…… have fun!!!

Q: What do you think of the 2007 Toyota Tacomas? Are they a good truck to buy this year?
I have a 2003, and am just thinking of upgrading to a 2007.
A: according to “Consumer Reports” they have the best buy rating and are high scores on all the road tests….yes buy another!
Q: Are toyota tacomas notorious for warped rotors?
I get conflicting answers from Toyota Dealers and the after market
people who replaced the pads and rotors. They keep warping !
(the shop turns them for free and Im good for a while)
3 Dealers say : you used after market shame on you come in and weel fix it$$$ . The shop says: NO its the nature of the truck !
PUT ON TOYOTA PARTS and youul still have the problem !
WHO IS RIGHT ?
A: Toyo people are right..they make their own parts and they are up to specs..most after market parts are made in china..I use to work at autozone for 5yrs trust me I use only dear parts when it came to things like timing belts and water pumps..the important things..use toyo and you wont have this problem it will cost more and truck wont cause the warping unless the tire or wheel has a problem
Q: how long do toyota tacomas usually last?
im looking to buy a tacoma and i’ve found a lot but i cant buy a new model cause they are too expensive and i have a limit of $9000 im wondering how long they usually last? by long i mean miles? cause i see some with 90,000 100,000 miles and im like woah. how many miles do they go for till they finally give out?
A: A million miles+ if you take care of them.
The average lifespan of a Tacoma is in the range of 600,000-700,000 miles though. As they get past 300K people tend to stop taking good care of them.
100K is nothing for a Toyota.
Q: Are the Toyota Tacomas eventually going to be faded out and discontinued?
Toyota seems to be pushing the Tundra now mainly, and having that truck trying to compete with the Ford F-150.
A: We can only HOPE!
Q: What are the measurements of the 2005 toyota tacomas windsheild?
A: get a tape measure and see.
Q: What do i need to know about toyota tacomas?
Im gettin one soon and i was wondering about the things i needed to know
the best suspensions/lifts for the lowest prices
and engines and shocks and all that fun stuff
i just want to get into knowin alot about trucks
A: They’re great cars. We have an ‘07 and it was my very first car. If it’ your first truck, you’ll have to get used to the length; be careful when backing out of small parking lots. Other than that, it’s a great, reliable car. We haven’t had any problems with ours, and I used to drive it from San Diego to LA every weekend for school. It’s a great car overall.
Visit the Toyota website for more information on the Tacoma.

Q: How long can toyota tacomas last?
I found a truck with 177k miles. Its a 97 4cyl automatic 4×4. I love it but the guy wants $7900 for it. Do they really last that long? Over where Im from these trucks for for 10k, 13k etc its rediculus. I really like it though. Let me know what you think
A: 177K miles for close to 8 grand. I call it being jacked! forget it. go for one with less mileage, drive out of state if u have to. just too damn much money for a car withh too many miles. U’re asking for trouble.
consider other models. Ford, Nissan, Honda, chevy. I mena how long u plan on keeping it? Don’t get me wrong, I only buy Japanese. avoid that car at all costs.
Q: how many miles is it to replace the timing belt on toyota tacomas?
A: it is recommended 60k but i changed mine @ 120k. but i noe dey can go longer than that.
Q: Does the new toyota tacomas come with a navigation system?
A: Don’t waste your money. Buy a Garmin nuvi 660. I bought one for $750 off ebay for my Supra Turbo and it blows the doors of any stock navigation system I have ever seen. My Jeep Grand Cherokee is crap in comparison and that is a 2005 system. It is portable, small and can be used even if you are just walking through a new town or city. Blue tooth, MP3, picture viewer, audio book, conversions, amazing unit. FM transmittor built in so it plays through the car audio speakers and phone clarity is amazing through the built in mic and car speakers.

Q: Do they make toyota tacomas with automatic transmission?
i’m looking to buy one but all i can find is manual
A: They do make an automatic. Have the dealer you trust most do a locate. They can get on the computer and search every dealers inventory within a 200 mile radius. Save your shoe leather and let the computer do the searching. You can also do the same thing yourself on toyota.com. not as good a system but it will work.
Q: I lost my Toyota Tacomas Oil cap, what can I do until I get a new one.?
I live in a place where you cant just go and buy a new cap. By the way, will any oil cap fit my 2001 Toyota Tacoma or do I have to by a specific one?
A: You can buy/order an oil filler cap from a Toyota dealer’s parts department. You can also look for a used one at a junkyard. You can also look for one online (including ebay).
The oil filler cap is used on many other Toyota vehicles. You can’t just buy any oil cap.
