Q: How many owls could one (if one were so inclined) fit into a Mini Cooper?
Supposing the owls were adult Common Barn Owls, native to Britain and that the Mini Cooper was a 1970’s model, with no extra luggage space, how many avian’s could you cram in the auto?
They don’t have to be comfortable.
A: Twelve woodchucks could chuck more coopers than an owl !
Why would one be so inclined ?
Q: Should I be embarrassed that my dad drives a convertible mini cooper?
We got one two days ago, and it’s blue.
Now that I’ve been thinking about it, doesn’t a guy driving a mini cooper seem a little weird? I don’t want to be laughed at or made fun of at school and yes, people at my school make fun of the stupidest things.
Whats your opinion?
A: It is not the most masculine car that someone can buy, but they are really fun to drive for the money. If its a type s then I would say hell no, but if its a base model car then I would say its more on the girly side than anything else. However, not to the point where other kids will point out and laugh at you. If he was driving a yellow vw bug on the other hand……
Q: How do people have MINI COOPER colors on the road that arent on the website?
So I have seen all these weird MINI COOPER colors on the road and it never occured to be that these colors werent on the website until I checked MINI.com a few days ago. From what I learned on MINI fan sites, these colors change every year but the main ones stay. Theres colors such as gold, minty green, and maroon that I really like and am thinking about purchasing in about a year but how do I purchase it if its not on the site (like was maroon once available on the site before) ? AND how did people buy theirs if these colors arent available for purchase on the site?
ALSO does anyone have a clue what colors MINI (not the clubman) are going to be out in 2008?
I REALLY WANT A SPECIAL COLOR!
A: You paint one.
Buy an old one that had the right color.
Or
You wait till a color you want comes out on a new one, provided you can find it at your local dealer.
One of my reasons for not trading for a new car, is I don’t like the colors that they come in. So why pay that kind of money for something I don’t like?
Why should you?
Q: Anyone that owns a Mini Cooper or just likes them?
Would you put bonnet stripes on a silver Cooper even if it already had a checkered roof? I’ve just bought a Mini and I think the bonnet looks bare especially as it’s silver, but would it be overkill with black bonnet stripes AND a checkered roof? Thnaks!
A: It could look a little busy, but I don’t think it would look bad…most importantly, if YOU like it, that’s really all that matters! See below for a link to an actual picture of a silver MINI with a checkerboard roof and black bonnet stripes.
Q: How much would a used MINI Cooper cost?
What is the basic/estiamte of a used MINI Cooper cost?
A: it all depends where you want to buy it, the milage, the year, and the condition of the car, but it would be between 10,000 to 25,000 depending on the avobe factors. Look it up on websites like yahoo autos, or kbb, to get a better idea.
Q: How many moving boxes can you fit into the back of a mini cooper? (I’m moving)?
I’m going to be moving some boxes this weekend. I’m borrowing my friend’s car, but the only one I could get is a mini cooper – how many boxes can you fit in the backseat alone? (I will have one passenger)
A: Pop the back seats down and you have a hatchback.. You will be surprised how much space you have. With mine, I think that I have more room than in my husbands Toyota Corolla.
Don’t give yourselves great legroom in the front seats
.
Not sure on the size of the boxes, but a do a good shop at Costco with a lot of room left. You can stack the boxes and get more room.
It is better than you think!
Q: Is it possible to make a Mini One look exactly like a Cooper S?
My girlfriend is 19 and due to her age a Mini Cooper is crazy on insurance so I was thinking of buying her a Mini One and replacing the various body parts for the Cooper S ones so it looks like she wants without the speed and the excessive insurance….is this possible or is it expensive and difficult?
thanks for all your help.
A: it will be possible not only to make it look like Cooper S – you can also look for different body-styles like Hamman etc.
or you could go for a personal body-kit designed for mini
remember two things – first if it is cooper one it won’t go faster than cooper one even if it would look like bentley. and another thing – cooper S parts don’t come cheap.
I would personally go for a personalized mini cooper body-kit
Q: What are some Specs for the MINI Cooper?
What is the most Horsepower/Torque anyone has gotten out of a Mini Cooper S w/wo JCW? What is the total curb weight you have gotten the vehicle down to? When was the last time there was a major change to the design of the MINI Cooper?
A: The last major change for the MINI cooper hardtop was between the 2006 and 2007 model years. The hardtops before then were known as the R50 (Cooper) and the R53 (Cooper S). This was an extensive change… new interior, engine, transmissions, really almost everything. The new Cooper and Cooper S are known as the R56. It took a couple of years for the new body style and changes to make their way to the convertibles. You can tell the old body style by looking at the headlights… if they go up with the bonnet (hood), it’s the older style. If they stay down when you open the bonnet, it’s the new body style. There are other style cues on the exterior that you could look for, but that’s probably the easiest for most people to spot.
If you are interested in specs, I’d recommend www.miniusa.com, which is the primary corporate website for US sales (or go to www.mini.com to select from various sites for other countries).
The stock MCS R56 makes in the 175hp range… the JCW puts out just over 200hp. I’ve driven both cars back to back and the JCW is a noticeable change, but for most drivers, it’s just not going to make a difference. Maybe if you track or Auto-X the car, but it just won’t do that much for the majority of drivers. The regular MCS has plenty of power for the size/weight of the car.
There is a competitive racing league in Europe and several people who race the MINI in the USA. I might recommend browsing www.motoringalliance.com or www.northamericanmotoring.com for info on racing/tracking/auto-x.
For the R53, there are lots of bolt-on modifications and tuning systems for the shade-tree modder like myself (I’ve got an ‘06 MCS R53 w/ about 230hp estimated at the crank… 198hp at the wheels)
Given the BMW/MINI standard lifecycle, we are expecting a mid-cycle refresh in the next year (usually has small engine / interior / handling tweaks) and a full refresh in 2-3 years. I think that I saw a timeline for this sort of stuff at www.motoringfile.com.
Hope this helps!

Q: Can I Get Reviews From MINI Cooper Owners?
Hey everyone, I’m thinking of buying a MINI Cooper (probably an ‘02 or ‘03, I’m not exactly rich), but all I can find for reviews are based on the initial test drives. I’d like to hear some detailed feedback from actual MINI owners about how they hold up over time, and what their general experiences have been with them. Thank you in advance.
can i remind everyone that i want to hear from people that actually currently own or have previously owned minis? i don’t care about what you’ve heard from other people, i’ve heard things too — i want to hear first hand opinions of people that own them. thanks so much!
A: Hello there “the_new_sincerity”!
I personally do not own a Mini cooper however most of my family members own BMW and will tell you now they are very reliable so I assume the same quality is carried across into the MINI brand!
But I did some research and here, I found you web site which has car reviews for every car made!
I found you the links already to save you some time I found the 02 and 03 reviews
2002 mini reviews:

Q: I need to know where to go for the best value on good quality tires on a 2007 Mini Cooper?
I have a 2007 Mini Cooper. I already need new tires! Probably because I drive just a little aggressively! The dealership wants to charge me 1200 bucks to buy, install and balance new tires. Too much! But most places aren’t very familiar with Mini Coopers. Any suggestions?
Hey, Rude Boy – I live in Florida…
A: “But most places aren’t very familiar with Mini Coopers” Huh? whats so special about the tyres and wheels on a mini? I think your delusional. You also fail to say where in the world you are so directing you somewhere is futile. Good luck.
Q: What Is the difference between a mini cooper and a mini cooper s?
i really like minis but what is the difference between the cooper and the cooper s?
A: mini cooper s is the supercharged version of the cooper has a lil more power and better handling
Q: How many miles does a Mini Cooper S Convertible last?
Approximately how many miles will a well taken care of 2008 Mini Cooper S Convertible last for until it completely dies? Also, how many miles will a well taken care of 2008 Honda Civic Si Coupe last for before it completely dies?
A: Do not drive in the winter (if you have snowy ones) and with the best maintenance possible and good driving habits, it is not inconceivable that either one could last to 500,000 kl or 300,000 miles. The more highway mileage the better. Just remener, the BMW parts are far more expensive.
Q: Is a mini cooper a good first car for a 17 year old?
For my first car when i will be 17, i have been wanting a mini cooper for years and years. As it is not long away i have still got that idea in my head. Just wondering if anybody had/has one (for there first car) or just generally knows what they are like/ how reliable they are and insurance. I am looking at about 02/03/04 reg.
Thanks in advance for replies and advance
A: A few people I know had the newer shape for their first cars too. Though these kids are rich and can afford them.
I would definitely say they’re good first cars because they’re reliable and unlikely to snap in half (KA’s), unfortunately unless you’re quite well off, the insurance for such a car might be extortionate.
Q: Anybody know were i can get a replacement mini cooper hood with a scoop?
I want to replace my stock mini cooper hood (no scoop) with a hood that has a scoop but not the carbon fiber ones. i looked on ebay and all they had was ones for mini cooper S. do they only fit the mini cooper S? Im looking for a chilli red one. any ideas?
A: Try a wrecking yard. I don’t know why you want to put a Cooper S hood on a standard Cooper. Anyone with a Mini will know you’re a fake right off. The S has dual exhaust, and of course the “S” emblem, all clearly visible.
