Q: How to decide on which year and trim for Honda Accord?
Looking to buy a used Honda Accord under 5000… but I dont know how to hone down on which specific year or trim I want. Any help? Ideally I want something with a navigation system… nice/newer look to it… can do modifications like display mp3 on it or hook it up to an mp3… cd…. and pretty spacious/4 door ideally. thanks
what are the differences in trim levels for Honda Accords anyway?
but another important question… i really dig the appearance of the coupe… but since i move around alot i’d probably be better off with a 4-door sedan so that i can move big stuff in and out from the back… but i dont like the look of the sedan.. im conflicted =(

James Dean: I was wondering if I could message you about an offer that I found for your opinion? I’m a 20 year old girl that is about to buy a used car within the next few weeks and i would greatly appreciate it if i could get some help and advice? :)

A: Accords have pretty high resale values, i highly doubt you’ll find a newer one for your pricerange(especially one new enough to have GPS and an mp3 player). if you want a reliable Accord, it’s going to be from the 90’s or early 00’s. the older Accords had 3 trim levels: LX, DX, and EX. the DX was pretty much the base model, the LX had a few more options, and the EX had the bigger engine and a lot of options. for 5 grand, you should be looking at Accords from the late 90’s considering those are the only good ones you’ll find. considering your budget, you should be more concerned with the mileage than the car’s options. try to find one with less than 100k on it, but it’s going to be hard. trust me. i paid about $5000 for my Integra GS-R, and it’s a ‘98 with 95,000 miles on it. that should just give you an idea of what to expect when buying a Honda for this pricerange.
