Q: How can i make the exhaust on my 99 honda accord quieter?
I just bought a 99 honda accord for cheap just a commuter car, but it has a vtech motor and loud exhaust that i dont like. I hate that loud sound. So what would be the best/simplest/cheapest way to quiet the sound. Someone told me I would have to replace the exhaust which im hoping i dont have to do. Any suggestions?

A: New muffler and hope that the last owner didn’t weld on the crappy loud muffler you have now.
It won’t be as quiet as it should be unless you get an OEM exhaust muffler.

Q: How do I stop squeeking when starting my 92 honda accord?
I have a 92 Honda Accord EX and everytime I start it up, a belt or something squeeks, almost like water got on it, and it stops about 5 sec. later. How can I figure out what this is and how do I fix it?

A: Just feel the tension on the belt(s) and tighten the one that is loose.

My 1996 honda accord does not have a CD player. It has a AM/FM and Cassette player. Can I install aux input on this car. If yes, please advise how?

A: wow i see a lot of people don’t know nothing about honda stereos

all honda radios have a way to input audio , your Honda Accord was ready for a cd changer and there is a round plug on the back side, that is where you will plug the auxiliary audio input interface for Honda

A: I’m an old school mechanic. I am a Cadillac guy all the way. But whenever someone asks me to recommend a car, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Maxima are my top 3. They have problems, but are well known for their durability and ease of maintenance. Also, parts are plentiful and mostly inexpensive, so if something big does go wrong, it’s usually not too much to fix.

I looking into getting a honda accord (coupe) but i have noticed that the model has not changed in a few years. I dont want to get the car and then next year have the model change does anyone know when they are going to change the accord coupe model?

A: The new accord coupe is coming out in 08′. I don’t recommend you get it though. You should at least wait until the 09′ comes out so they can get the tweeks out of it. The first year of the redisign always has problems, always.

I’m considering the honda accord as a first car, i have a preference for the coupe, I’m considering models 98-00 because that’s as far as i can afford, can any of you tell me your personal experiences with this car? reliability, comfort, how happy you were or are with it? and would you advise it?

A: hondas are reliable and cheap to fix they are great little cars they get great gas milage i had a civic as my first car and it was great i loved it, it had 250,000 mi on it and ran really good and i would still to this day buy a honda my next car is going to be a 99 honda accord specail eddition fully loaded sedan that is basically my dream car unless they come out with something better, but anyways yes hondas are great they say a honda dont get fully broken in till at least 150,000mi i dont know if you have checked out the prices of handas in your area but it is going to be hard to find a honda with less than 100,000mi on it for less than 7,000 (at a dealership) and i would not recomend buying any car from a private seller it comes with absolutly no warrenty or gurantee

Can anyone give me info(pros and cons) on the Honda Accord. The salesman I had was too aggresive for me. The sale meant more to him than the customer!!!!!!

A: I am on my 2nd Accord and 3rd Honda in less than 10 years. WE LOVE THEM. Currently, we have a 2000 Accord LX and it’s an awesome car… You can’t beat the value, reliability, style and reputation. Hondas are great, I would totaly recommend them.

Have a honda accord 1998 i just put a motor in it for a guy,well it wont start its getting fuel into the fuel rail but it wont shoot into the engine thru the injectors anyone have any ideas? i have checked all connections, and sensors.
no i dont do this for a living no more,im an electrician. i only do mechanic work on side now,havent been in the auto mechanic field for over 10 years now. so a smart remark is not what im after if ya dont know dont respond.

I just visted the dealer (honda) today and i went just for a problem with my window then they come with this list of things they recommend i need done. what do you think? is it neccessary? ac filter, power steering flush, brake fluid flush, engine air filter

A: Engine air filter should be replaced yearly.

If it’s dirty, replace as soon as possible. This will increase your fuel efficiency. (And you can do it yourself for about $15)

The other stuff isn’t necessary if the fluids are in good condition. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it does pick up water and can be contanimated. But typically you can go at least 100K before needing a brake fluid flush.

A/C filter is more for your inside cabin. It will ensure your air is filtered and clean. They sell replacement filters at most parts stores for $15-$20. Not a necessity to replace, just a nice thing.

A: Many Honda models seem to have noisy engines. Our ‘07 Odyssey EX-L has a lot engine just sitting there, it almost sounds like a diesel engine (but not as loud). My ‘03 Accord EX-L (4Cly) engine is kind of noisy, especially for a 4 banger. Our ‘05 Civic is not noisy. I really think the new Accord is loud, because it has a bigger engine.

Q: How much does it cost to replace a timing belt on a Honda Accord 2001?
Honda did a check up on my car (2001 Honda Accord) and they said my timing belt needs to be replaced for $2,000. My car has 110,000 miles. How much should it cost to be replaced? $2,000 seems like a rip off to me.

A: It sure does. Without replacing the water pump (which I strongly recommend – it adds about $100 and saves you a potential calamity) the 4 cylinder engine is about $350-$550 where I live and the V6 is $425-$600. Change the belt and water pump and spend the other $1400 on something nice.

Q: How much would it cost to reupholster a 05 Honda accord lx to leather?
I have a dark blue 2005 honda accord LX and it would be rediculously sexy if it had black and blue leather seats instead of the charcoal colored cloth. how much would it cost to get this done and what kind of store or shop does this kind of stuff?

A: ive seen upholstery shops that usually charge under $2000 for the front and rear seats. they will usually include the armrests for that amount.
